Crochet Amigurumi

Class Description: Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. We will work together to create a simple stuffed strawberry while learning the tricks and tips of this fun crochet technique! Learn how to get started, how to
crochet in the round, how to change colors or add on yarn seamlessly, how to embellish our creations, and more along the way! Please note: this is NOT a beginner crochet class. You must be able to single crochet and chain in order to participate.We will be making a stuffed strawberry with red and green, but you can use any color.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Required Skills: Must be able to do basic crochet; must be familiar with chain, single crochet,
decrease and increase

Class Length: 3 hours

Class Kit: Option 1: $16, will include printed pattern and a needle holder. Option 2: $24, will include all listed supplies needed below plus printed pattern and needle holder.

Other Supplies Needed (To be brought by the student): Supplies Needed for one strawberry: Yarn of any fiber (worsted weight that about 8 ounces in two different colors is recommended), Crochet hook to match yarn PLUS the next two sizes smaller, Crochet notions as are typical for crocheting (darning needle, scissors, stitch markers). While chenille yarn is often seen being used for amigurumi, it is not recommended to use this yarn type for this class unless you have previous experience using it. The fluffiness of the yarn can make it difficult to count or see stitches if you are not comfortable with it.

Age Restriction: Any person between the age of 8-10 must be supervised by an adult at all times & share the same project with an adult during classes. Children (non-adult tickets) are available to any person between the age of 8 and 17.
