Class Description: In this class students will learn basic garment construction using a lined knit bodice, how to finish a shelf bra lining with an elastic band, hemming techniques for knits, and the option to create a sleeveless tank top style or attach sleeves. You can then take this top and head over to the Circle Skirt Basics class to make this a dress instead!
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Required Skills: Basic serger knowledge or comfortable sewing knits with a standard machine, beginner-level sewing with knits (at least once)
Class Length: 2.5 hours
Class Kit: $70, will include all pattern pieces cut and ready to assemble in class. There will also be an extra 1.5 yards of fabric for coordinating skirt or sleeve changes. This totals 3 yards of fabric.
Other Supplies Needed (To be brought by the student): Serger is highly recommended, but a sewing machine with a zigzag/stretch stitch can be used instead. Sewing notions, supplies, and cutting supplies.
Age Restriction: Any person between the age of 8-10 must be supervised by an adult at all times & share the same project with an adult during classes. Children (non-adult tickets) are available to any person between the age of 8 and 17.
