Meet-ups & Exchanges Descriptions:

Drop-Off Exchanges: You will find a place at check-in for you to drop off your makes and return Sunday afternoon  to pick-up your gifts.

These include:

Christmas Ornaments Exchange:

Make up a group of five Christmas Ornaments. They can be sewn, embroidered, knitted, or any other craft you can think of. Bring them to the check-in desk between 8am and noon on Friday or Saturday.

Please don’t bring them to Early Check In.

Please bring them in a bag with your name on them and the quantity of ornaments written on the outside. If you are taking part in more than one Drop-Off Exchange, please use a separate bag for each one.

On Sunday, between noon and the raffle, come back to the check-in desk and find the table with the exchanges and find the bag you dropped off. You will find the bag with your name on it and it will now contain five Christmas Ornaments made by others for you to take home.

Sassy Dish Towels:

Bring one (or more) Dish towels that you have made with sassy or snarky saying or other decorations on it.

Bring them to the check-in desk between Friday 8am and noon on Friday or Saturday.

Please don’t bring them to Early Check In.

Please bring them in a bag with your name on them and the quantity of towels written on the outside. If you are taking part in more than one Drop-Off Exchange, please use a separate bag for each one.

On Sunday, between noon and the raffle, come back to the check-in desk and find the table with the exchanges and find the bag you dropped off. You will find that bag with your name on it and it will now contain towel(s) that others have made. If you bring a towel that contains “adult” language, then expect to get one back that has similar language, but if your towel doesn’t, then you will get back a family friendly towel. Music Themed Exchange:This exchange is pretty open ended. You can bring bags, kitchen towels, BBQ mitts, or whatever you enjoy making. These items do not have to be sewn, they can be from any craft, but they need to be music themed. We are in the Music City after all!

You will find that bag with your name on it and it will now contain item(s) that others have made.

In-Person Exchanges: These will be set up like a Dirty Santa, White Elephant, or similar. You will need to be at the location at the allotted time in order to participate.

These include:

Sticker Swap:

Come to our meet up and bring your stickers! We will sit around, swap stickers, give away stickers and support those who can’t quite dig up the nerve to actually use their stickers. There will be some support for those with Sticker Anxiety too!

Boozie Bag Exchange:

Back by popular demand. This one gets wild and crazy and great fun!

21 & OLDER ONLY

1) Make and bring a bag and include some booze! Any size bag and any size alcohol can be included, but make sure that what you bring is something you would be proud to get in exchange. Feel free to use a more adult theme on the bag since this is a 21 and older only event.

2) Wrap your bag in something crafting related. The wrapping could be a yard of fabric, a gift bag with a crafting related picture, or whatever, use your imagination.

3) We will gather at the time and place on the schedule; don’t be late!

It’s a game like Dirty Santa!

4) You will place your exchange on a table and take a number. Don’t loose your number because you need it to know when it’s your turn to choose.

5) We will place all the numbers in a hat and draw out a number. The person holding that number gets to come up and pick a wrapped exchange. Then, they have to unwrap the item and show everyone what they got. That person may or may not get to keep the bag. I’ll explain as we go along.

6) The second number is drawn from the bag. That person can either choose from the table and follow the example of the first person, or they can choose to “steal” a bag and booze from the person. (See where the “Dirty Santa” part comes in?) If this second person chooses from the table, they open their exchange to let everyone see.

If they “steal” from the first person, then they get the bag and the booze, but not the wrapping. After this, the first person, who had their bag “stolen” will be able to go to the table and choose another bag. The wrapping stays with the first person.

7) We continue drawing numbers and folks keep choosing from the table or “Stealing” from someone else.

8) But, when a bag/booze combination is in the hands of a third person it is “dead” and that person gets to keep it, it can’t be “stolen” from them except at the very end of the game. I’ll explain in a minute.

9) If a bag/booze is “stolen” from you, then you get to go back to the table and choose another, or “steal” from someone else. You may not “Steal” from the person who just stole from you, nor can you “steal” a swap that is already in the hands of the third person.

10) We continue like this through much merriment until all the numbers have been chosen and everyone has a bag & booze. 11) Then, in a twisted ending, the person who’s number was called first gets to “steal” from anyone, whether that exchange was “dead” or not. It really pays to be drawn first! But, feel free to exchange booze or bags amongst yourself after the game if you so choose.

The advantage to choosing from the table is that you know what wrapping you are going home with, if
you keep getting bags and keep getting them “stolen” from you, then you might leave with a big
pile of cool wrappings. The advantage of “stealing” is that you know what bag you are choosing.

Please note: If we have a large turn out, we reserve the right to place time limits on choosing, or the right to split the group into more manageable groups so that we can get this done during one meal break and not be late for our next classes.

Oklaroots Swap:

In this exchange you can make and bring any bag that Jess Oklaroots has made a video of on her Oklaroots channel on YouTube. This is wide open, ANY pattern that she has made on her channel.
We will bring them in and everyone will be assigned numbers. When your number is called you get to choose from the table.

Meet-ups with No Exchange: These will be meet-ups of groups with similar interests.

Cosplayers Meet-Up:

Here’s a chance for the cosplayers in the group to get together, compare notes, and make new friends in the cosplay community. You might find someone who has skills you need to trade for or ideas they are willing to share. Or just chat about your love cosplay!

Patreon Meet-Up:

Here’s a chance for those who subscribe to the Patreon Group and want to get together. Just come on to the Saturday party! This is unhosted, but just a chance to get together and act silly in person as opposed to acting silly online. But remember, What Happens in Patreon, Stays in Patreon.

We need one person for each meetup and exchange to help manage the effort, kick it off, and be there during the event. This is no guarantee you'll be chosen, but you'll be contacted if you are.
