Basic Sewing Kit includes:

The majority of classrooms will have 1-2 cutting mats, rulers (Sponsored by Off the Wall Quilt), 1-2 irons, 1-2 wool pressing mat

A Modern Quilting Bee

Class Description: Come join this modern quilting bee while we all work on the Sail Away quilt from Legit Kits! You will learn the basics of Foundation Paper Piecing and how fun and easy it can be. While completing your quilt blocks, we’ll also discuss methods to organize a Legit Kit, and you’ll leave with the confidence to tackle a quilt on your own. In true Quilting Bee fashion, one student will be randomly selected to keep all of the quilt blocks!
Class Kit: $37 includes the pattern and all fabric needed to complete two or more blocks. A coupon code towards the price of a full quilt is also included!

Amigurumi Strawberry

Class Description: Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. We will work together to create a simple stuffed strawberry while learning the tricks and tips of this fun crochet technique! Learn how to get started, how to crochet in the round, how to change colors or add on yarn seamlessly, how to embellish our creations, and more along the way!
Class Kit: $12 includes printed pattern and fiberfill
Supplies Needed: For one strawberry:
-Yarn of any fiber, worsted weight (about 20 ounces). We will be making a stuffed strawberry with red and green, but you can use any color.
-Crochet hook to match yarn, PLUS the next two sizes smaller
-Crochet notions as are typical for crocheting (darning needle, scissors).

Class Description: Learn to install a wallet frame & make the Ashley Clutch Wallet by Lindshandmade. This is such a surprisingly fun pattern to make and fairly quick! Must have knowledge of cutting with a rotary cutter to ensure accurate measurements.

Basic/Upcycle Ears

Class Description: Join us for this 2-for-1 Ears class! Learn how to make a basic ears headband while also upcycling an old memorable shirt, unique skirt from the thrift store, or even a magical bedsheet. You can also just bring a couple fat quarters of fabric and still enjoy the fun of Ear Making!
Class Kit: $7 (Will have foam and stuffing only)

Class Kit: $32, Will include all pre-cut pattern pieces and accessories needed for each
project. Fabric colors and designs will vary. You will have the option to choose your fabric in class, as
well as adult or child sizes.

Age Restriction: Ages 8+, kids and adult beginner sewists alike are welcome! Kids are welcome to participate without a parent/guardian.


Boho Bracelets
Teacher: Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis

Required Skills: Basic Sewing Machine knowledge IF you want to machine embellish (optional)
Class Description: Create a little bit of bohemian flair for your wrist and experiment with bold colors, or soft and cool colors – what ever makes you smile! Use Bosal’s fun moldable fusible stiff base to create a cuff that you can embellish with cut shapes. Wool or bamboo makes for an accessory with tactile appeal. Embellish with hand stitching if you prefer! Students will learn how to work with the moldable fusible base product, as well as working with fusible appliqué and die cut shapes. Machine embellishment is optional.

Can Can Organizer
Teacher: Julie, Off The Wall Quilt

Skill Level: Appropriate for anyone who can sew a “nearly” straight stitch with a sewing machine.
Required Skills: Familiar with sewing machine you will be using in class
Class Description: It’s a fun and easy project that makes great gifts or even a great item to sell at craft shows. The kits will contain pre-cut pieces so that you can focus on sewing and assembly, but you’ll also receive a full pattern so that you can make it again later. The organizer can stand alone but works even better over a 28/29 ounce can like tomatoes or pumpkin come in. Everything included in the kit except for the can.
Class Kit: Cost $20; will include Can-Can pattern, all fabric & stabilizer cut to size for one Can-Can Organizer
Supplies Needed: Sewing machine with thread, needle and bobbin (wound). Any neutral or wildly colorful thread is fine. Scissor or snips for trimming threads. Bring a 28/29 ounce can to finish your project or get one later at home.
Age Restriction: This class is not really appropriate for children under 14 unless they have plenty of experience sewing already (there’s one spot where we’ll hold our breath, tap our heals together and stick out our tongues). If under 12, there must be an adult on the same project.


Canva Basics: Graphic Design Platform for Beginners

Car Trash Can – On Industrials

Class Description: Is your car a mess? Same. Keep it under control with a car trash can. Made with waterproof canvas and interfaced cotton woven, these bad boys are durable and can hold all the Starbucks cups and Monster cans you need. This is a great way to learn sewing on an industrial machine, and a fun make if you already have.
Class Kit or Materials: $30 – kit will include all fabric already interfaced, hook and loop tape and pattern.

Color Blocked Wristlet

Class Description: This skill-building class will teach you how to turn a simple pouch into a stylish wristlet. We will focus on simple changes that can elevate your sewing to the next level.

Compass Star

Class Description: Guided improv makes the Mariner’s Compass block easy and carefree! No more templates or paper piecing – just easy squares and rectangles, plus a few markings for a less than perfect, but perfectly pointed Mariner’s Compass! Students will learn how to mark for fabric placement, and how to trim down units for easy assembly.
Class Kit: $7.00 pattern required, optional $20 kit that includes all fabrics and pattern for the mini quilt top

Cover Me Sweetly Notebook Cover
Teacher: Megan Nixon, Sweetly Unique

Required Skills: Familiar with and understanding of sewing machine you will be using and if it has the capability to sew through at least 3 layers of faux leather.
Class Description: I will teach you how to sew my pattern for the Notebook cover that holds up to 2 composition notebooks or a notebook and a planner as well as a detachable pencil pouch that fits perfectly inside. I will also discuss how and when to add an appliqué to your cover, however there will not be enough time to complete a detailed appliqué in this class.
Class Kit: $47, will include fully prepped and ready to sew pieces for a complete cover and pencil case including the zipper tape, pull and all magnets and basic snaps for closure.
Supplies Needed: Basic Sewing Machine, Basic Sewing Kit, Basic Cutting Supplies, Teflon sewing foot and zipper foot. Thread color to match your kit you will be able to select on my website. If you’d like, a label to sew onto your cover. Scissors to trim threads, seam ripper, double sided sticky tape. Recommend a titanium 100/16 sewing machine needle or other non stick needle that works for your thread thickness.

Creating & Coloring Molds with Pigments & Epoxy
Teacher: Deana Janowsky, AnaSky Creations

Class Description: In the class, you’ll be completing a small mold with fast setting resin. Starting with coloring the mold to enhance design, mixing, coloring, and pouring the epoxy, working to get bubbles out as epoxy begins to set in mold.
Class Kit: Cost $42; will include all items included in kit (quick-set epoxy resin, custom mold, supplies)
Photo shown is the TX SME ’23 design. A special custom mold is in work for TN SME ’23!

Deimos Cork BiFold Wallet

Required Skills: Previous work with cork is a plus but nothing required.
Class Description: A beginner friendly, skill building cork wallet class. The Deimos Wallet is a slim style bifold with 4 card slots, a snap pouch, 1 cash slot, and 2 slip pockets. Perfect beginner project! Nicole will have one snap press to share for the class.
Class Kit: $47, includes all pre cut cork, a spring snap set, and a printed pattern

Elastic Pencil Pouch

Class Description: Keep your pens close by your planner with this fun and easy to make ITH Elastic Pencil Pouch embroidery design. Let Jacki Bauman from Ellia Jacksford Designs show you how to create your pouch entirely in the hoop with no sewing. When finished, pouch will slide over your planner keeping pens, pencils, sticky notes, paperclips and so much more close by. In class we will be making two pouches. One made from Jelly Vinyl and one made from fabric and completely lined on the inside.
Class Kit: $22 Kits will include the Elastic Pencil Pouch embroidery design. Design will be emailed to students 1 week prior to class. All material needed to complete the 2 pouches will be included in the class kit.
Other Supplies Needed: Embroidery Machine with a minimum of a 5×7″ hoop, their own embroidery thread selection, at least 5 prewound bobbins, and have the designs loaded to your embroidery machine BEFORE coming to class.

EL Lights and Jelly Vinyl Bag
Teacher: Danielle St John, Stitch’N Designs

Skill Level: Intermediate-Advanced Beginner.
Required skill: Basic embroidery/appliqué. Hand sewing is involved.
Class description: Let your bag light up the night by learning how to incorporate EL
lights into your embroidery/appliqué design. Students will need to complete the bag
outside of class, but are welcome to bring everything to finish it at SME.
Kits: $24 Includes *Light up design TBD, jelly vinyl, EL lights, clear vinyl, batteries, invisible thread,
and sewing needle (hand sewing).
Other Supplies: Students will need to bring their own material (Non fraying; WPC/
WRC, vinyl). The piece of material should be larger than the desired pattern piece,
which will be cut to size after the class. (If unsure of pattern, bring a piece of material
large enough that it could accommodate multiple options).
-Desired sewing notions (clips, scissors, etc). If you chose to finish the bag at SME, a 1/2” grommet kit is needed.
Students will need to decide if they’re using an embroidery or a sewing machine.

Embroidery For Your Pet!

Class Description: See how easy it is to create fun and exciting items for the fur baby in your life. Whether you’re dressing them up for Halloween, making presents for Christmas, or simply spoiling them throughout the year, let Jacki Bauman from Ellia Jacksford Designs show you some projects that can be created using your embroidery machine. In this class, we will be creating three designs for your pet! If you are unable to bring your embroidery machine, you’re welcome to come and learn! You will still receive a class kit to take home with you and stitch what you learned in class.
Class Kit: $32 Kits will include embroidery designs for the Pet Tag Halloween Costume, Christmas Pet Toy, and the Pet Bandana. Designs will be emailed to students 1 week prior to class. All materials needed to complete the 3 designs will be included in the class kit.

English Paper Piecing 101

Class Description: We will be learning the basics of English Paper Piecing (EPP) using hexagons to make a travel tool for EPP. This portable and precise technique will provide you with the ability to create hexagons and sew them together by hand, including proper use of a thimble, enabling you to piece for hours! Learn different methods for putting your hexagons together, how to hide your fabric tails and achieve professional results in your sewing. You will finish the class with the confidence to apply EPP to your favorite patterns. The travel kit can be finished at home and will allow you to carry your EPP items with you wherever you may travel.
Class Kit: $37, includes fabric for hexagons, paper pieces, thread, needles, wool, wonder clip, pvc pipe, ribbon, and thread magic.
Other Supplies Needed: Cutting scissors, thimble. If you do not have a thimble, you can come and have one fitted to borrow for class at the booth of Thimbles For You.

Class Description: This case is a must have because who wouldn’t bring their whole dang sewing room along if they could? Now you can!!! Between all that and the super handy mesh pockets, I think we have thought of everything!!! Well, everything but the machine….

Class Description: Learn to make this beautiful flower pillow. You will learn how to sew straight and curved lines with this one-of-a-kind Flower Pillow kit. We will also teach you how to hand-sew the pillow closed with an invisible stitch. Make many more at home with our Flower Pillow sewing pattern that is included in the materials fee.

Hand Quilting into Make-up Bag

Class Description: This class will walk you step by step through the fundamentals of hand quilting, including marking, sandwiching, and how to use a thimble. We will discuss various threads, needles, thimbles, techniques, markers, helpful tools, and so much more! You will apply the lessons learned and practice stitching a quilted panel, which you will then be able to turn into a make-up bag. Pattern for the pouch will be included, although we won’t have time to assemble during the class. There will also be time for “how would you quilt that?” when you can present one of your quilt tops and walk away with quilting ideas.
Class Kit: $22, includes fabric front marked for quilting, backing, batting, thread, needle, thread magic; everything needed to create a panel to be used to make a make-up bag.
Other Supplies Needed: 10” or 12” hoop, scissors, thimble. If you do not have a thimble, you can come and have one fitted to borrow for class at the booth of Thimbles For You. You will also need a 14″ zipper when you assemble the pouch, but you may want to wait to choose the color of the zipper.

How to sew Pain in the Ass (PITA) Fabrics

Intro to Color Blocked Hoodie
Teacher: Jen Gladden of Tiny Tumbleweed Boutique

Required Skills: All participants must have basic experience working with knit fabrics and/or garment making, as this class will be teaching an alteration of an existing pattern. You have an understanding of seam allowances, how to cut out a pattern, and how to sew a knit fabric. Participants must understand how to sew knits using the machine they choose to bring for class, as there will not be instruction on machines.
Class Description: In this class, you will be learning how to colorblock any pattern. We will all be using the same hoodie pattern and will learn about cutting and piecing fabrics to create one-of-a-kind garments that are great scrap busters and perfect for utilizing pieces of fabric that aren’t large enough to complete a project. You will also learn tips on print/pattern mixing to make your creation really pop. While we hope to complete the entire hoodie in class, the purpose of this class is to teach the color-blocking portion. The shirt style is a relaxed fit. We will be utilizing the Sinclair Nova pattern, which will be available at a discounted price for class participants after sign-up
Class Kit: $77, will include all materials cut out and front bodice pattern piece cut and available for colorblocking.
Supplies Needed: Serger is HIGHLY recommended. If using a domestic sewing machine you must have knowledge of how to sew knits using that machine (i.e. using a stretch stitch, correct needle, correct tension). You will learn how to fill a 10 x10 foot craft show booth with products made entirely in a 5×7 hoop or smaller. If you are unable to bring your embroidery machine, you’re welcome to come and learn! Simple AnglePlay Quilt

Class Description: AnglePlay is a method of quilting that is easy enough for a first quilt, but fascinating enough to entertain even an experienced quilter. You will learn to cut around a template, how to assemble the pieces and even how to create your own designs! This project will consist of making borders to surround a photo printed on fabric. This is a great opportunity to give quilting a try. Each student will go home with the tools needed to keep quilting.
Class Kit: Cost $47; includes AnglePlay Set 1 (4 templates plus idea booklet), Photograph printed on fabric (emailed to instructor prior to expo if possible), Fabric strips, Batting, and Backing to complete project.

The Julie Tote on Industrials
Teacher: Chris Murphy of Simply Classic

Required Skills: Some bag-making experience.
Class Description: Students will construct The Julie Tote. The construction process will teach: installing handles using the hidden strap connector method, installing an interior zipper pocket with a zipper overlay, exterior topstitching “in the tunnel”, adding a square bottom to a bag, birthing a bag, and closing the bag through the zipper opening.
Class Kit: $67 Class kits will include all of The Julie Tote pieces pre-cut, stabilized and/or interfaced. We will be using a faux leather/vinyl, Decovil light/heavy as the pattern indicates, cotton or linen for the lining and Wovenfuse 2 or SF101 for interfacing. You will receive a zipper with a zipper pull, two fully constructed handles, double sided tape (as needed), thread, The Julie print pattern, and rivets. Materials for the class will be different than the photos shown.

The Winter Crescent Bag

Required Skills: Students should have general knowledge of using a sewing machine. This bag does have a curve and a zipper so prior knowledge does help, but the pattern was written for a beginner in mind.
Class Description: In this class you’ll learn how to make a Winter Crescent Bag. You will become familiar with adding a zipper, sewing a curve, and learn a potentially new to you way to install connectors on the sides when having a zipper closure top without a gusset.
Class Kit: Optional, $42 All fabric, hardware, notions, zipper, pull, etc as well as pattern will be provided and pre-cut. If you choose not to purchase the kit you must buy the pattern and bring all materials pre-cut, prepped, and ready to sew.

QAYG-001 Quilt as You Go with Sashing
Pattern Supply List for 4 each 7-inch finished blocks:
- 4 each 8” x 8″ fabric for top
- 4 each 11” x 11″ fabric for backing.
- 4 each 11” x 11” fabric for batting
- 2 strips 2” x 10″ for sashing (press into 1” strips by folding both sides with raw edge meeting in the middle)
- 1 strip 2” x 20″ for sashing (press into 1” strips by folding both sides with raw edge meeting in the middle)

Students Advance Prepare: kit listed above. Press 2-inch strips into 1-inch strips by folding in from both sides. Raw edges should meet in the middle of the back of these strips with folds on both edges. The 2 1/2″ strips are for binding. Do not confuse the 2 ½ “ strip for binding.

The Tuesday Tote

Required Skills: Familiar with and fully understand the features of the sewing machine you will be using.
Class Description: Join me in making the Tuesday Tote from Knotted Threads. You will work with vinyl, water resistant canvas and seat belt webbing. Learn how to add a lining, top stitch and box the corners. This is a great class if you want to learn some basic bag making techniques.
Class Kit: $42 will include all materials needed to make the OPTION A bag.
Vinyl may differ from photo.
Supplies needed: Sewing machine, preferably a straight stitch heavy duty machine, machine accessories, power cord, foot pedal, pressor foot, narrow or regular zipper foot, teflon & 1/4 feet are optional. (Walking Foot could be helpful if you are not using a straight stitch machine.) size 14 and 16 needles and tools for your machine. Scissors for trimming threads and fabrics along with fabric clips. Thread information will be emailed once materials have been secured.

It has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the My Little Shindig community and we hope you’ll join us for a fabulous night!

Class Description: The Zip Away Tote, by byGeorge, was born out of the desire to always have an extra bag on hand and to be able to have it tucked away in my purse or my car. In this class, students will learn how to create their own Zip Away Tote utilizing a separating zipper, and have access to additional options for future makes.
