Circle Skirt Basics

Class Description: Learn to measure yourself, create your own circle skirt pattern, and sew up an easy clothing staple for your daily wear or cosplay.

Skill Level: Beginner

Required Skills: Basic sewing machine knowledge required. Some experience with sewing curves and zippers will be helpful, but not required.

Class Length: 1.5 hours

Materials Needed: Minimum 2 yards of knit (stretch) fabric. Please use a non-directional print on your fabric for your first time. If you’d like, you can purchase soft waistband elastic if you want your waistband to not be in the same material as the body of your skirt.

Elastic Idea: Dritz 2″ Soft Waistband Elastic, Black, 2 yd | JOANN

Other Supplies Needed: Basic sewing machine, notions, and cutting supplies. Clips, seam ripper, snips, removable marking implement.

A serger is preferred for this, but you can use a sewing machine with a zigzag stitch instead.
