Learning Embroidery

We will be learning 12 (plus) basic embroidery stitches perfect to add color and texture to any piece of clothing or quilt. You will also learn how to draw out and transfer designs and how to lay out and center a design on a sleeve or pant cuff. Lots of fun and learning!

Class Kit: Fabric for learning embroidery, needles, sampler pack of thread from Wonderfil, transfer paper, design ideas and handout.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Required Skills: None

Other Supplies Needed: Snips, thimble, chalk pencil, micron pen size .05 or .08, small embroidery hoop (optional). If you do not have a thimble, you can come and have one fitted to borrow for class at the booth of Thimbles For You. You will have an opportunity to start embroidering a clothing item of your choice – jeans, a jacket or a shirt – if you would like to bring an item to start with.
