Clear Tote – Choose Your Size!

Class Description: Learn to create and sew up your own clear tote pattern! You’ll learn how to create a boxed bottom tote bag pattern with measurements of your creation.

Skill Level: Beginner

Required Skills: Basic sewing machine knowledge required.

Class Length: 2 hours

Materials Needed: Below are suggested amount of materials to make a standard sized tote:

• Clear Vinyl – 1/2 to 1 yard (suggested to use 12 to 16 gauge vinyl if purchasing from fabric stores). The higher the gauge, the thicker the vinyl
• Double fold bias tape for seams & top of bag – 3 to 5 yards
• Fabric or webbing for straps – length of strips will vary depending on style. If doing similar to fabric shown I suggest at least 3 yards.
• If using woven fabric for straps, please interface them with SF101 or similar interfacing

Other Supplies Needed: Basic sewing machine, notions, and cutting supplies. I HIGHLY suggest having a teflon foot for sewing with clear vinyl, but you can also have some tissue paper ready as well. If doing long handles (as seen in the photo), I suggest clear double sided tape (wawak is my favorite).
